Copy incremental backup files

This article describes how to restore certificates from an incremental backup folder on an old computer to a new computer.

Find the old backup files

Tip

Read the Save and backup locations for more details about the folders used by Pirform.

Find the backup files from the old computer. These will be in your Pirform folder, which is usually under your Documents folder in a folder named "Incremental"

Documents\Pirform\Backups\Incremental

Note that it may have an alternative name or location if you set that up differently in your save and backup options. It will look like this:

Find your Pirform data folder

Find the Pirform data folder, which you can access by entering the following text into File Explorer and pressing Enter on your keyboard:

%appdata%\Pirform\Pirform\Data\DB3

It will look like this:

Alternatively, browse to the following location (replacing all of the section your-user-name with your actual user name):

C:\Users\your-user-name\AppData\Roaming\Pirform\Pirform\Data\DB3

Delete all the current certificates

Warning

You are about to remove all the certificates from the current copy of Pirform. THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE. Make sure you have exported those to files or have taken a backup!

After reading the warning above, select and delete all the files in that folder so that it is empty (leaving only the DB3 folder):

Copy files the old files

Select and copy all the files in the old folder you found in the first step above, then paste them into where you just deleted all the files.

When you have done that, the folder will have similar to this:

Start Pirform and check that everything is how you expect it to be!
