Browser blocks downloading

If your browser blocks a download, you can tell it that you want the file as follows. The instructions below are for the standard browser that comes with Windows, Microsoft Edge. Other browsers will be similar.

Microsoft Edge

The download shows a message saying that it has been blocked:

Click on the menu (the three dots) and then click on Keep:

Then click on Show more and then Keep anyway:

Firefox

Firefox does not show a message to block the download. Instead, it passes you to Windows SmartScreen and you willl get a message with you run the file (see the next section):

Windows SmartScreen

Windows SmartScreen appears if your browser hasn't asked you about the file.

Click on More info:
